an unbelievable deaf emergency quarterback

Cary Perkins was a wide receiver with the Emory & Henry College football
team during the early nineties.

As a senior in 1992, the team’s regular quarterback was hurt and declared
lost for the season. It was a big loss since this quarterback was ranked #4
among these NCAA-III quarterbacks.

Despite never having played quarterback in his life, the coach moved him
to that position.

All Cary did was:

8 for 10 for 192 yards and one touchdown in one game

12 of 21 for 240 yards and two touchdowns in another game

14 of 22 for 108 yards and one touchdown in another game

10 of 22 for 108 yards and one touchdown in another game

10 of 23 for 165 yards and one touchdown in another game

In the NCAA-III first round playoff game, he helped his team win 17-0
before being eliminated in the 2nd round.

Many post season honors came his way.
