best-high-school-long-jumper-in-nation

Charles Smith, a mainstreamed student at a high school
in Las Vegas, was the nation’s #1 high school long jumper.
His 26 feet, 5 1/2 inches leap, achieving that feat in 1984.

Unfortunately he was not able to duplicate this feat in
college. He attended three different colleges before
transferring to Gallaudet – but left Gallaudet after
a short time.
