college-softball-deaf-vs-deaf

When a college team, with a deaf athlete, plays against
another college that also has a deaf athlete, do both
deaf athletes know about it? In many cases, no – and
it is probably because all opponents are “enemy”!

In the 1994 collegiate softball season, University
of Nebraska had a deaf pitcher – Cody Dusenberry.
The opponent – Oklahoma State had a deaf player –
Michelle Kelly. They both faced each other in a
3-day series. Kelly had 1 hit in two at bats
first day, same 1 hit in two at bats second
day and then on the final day, she was 2 of 4.

Never again would both deaf women face each other
in a collegiate game.
