Angel Acuna is the only deaf basketball player to
have played in the hearing Olympics. Angel, an
American citizen, played for Mexico in the 1948
Olympics. He averaged 15 points a game for his
Mexican tem and was the second leading scorer
among these Olympics basketball teams.

 

After the Olympics he toured the world, playing
against the Harlem Globetrotters.

 

He played few seasons in deaf club basketball
competition. Growing up, he attended Arizona
School for the Deaf and Blind.
