An all-deaf professional basketball team

During the 1920’s there was a deaf professional
basketball team, called the New York Silent
Separates. It was part of a loosely organized
basketball circuit, these barnstorming teams
competing against each other. The Separates,
boosted by two all-time legendary deaf
players – Joe Worzel and Noah Downes, competed
against the Original Celtics, New York
Rens, Brooklyn Visitation and other teams.
Sorry, the results and the scores have been
lost to posterity!
