Dean Barton-Smith, a decathlete from Australia, represented
his nation in hearing Olympics, scoring 7703 points while
finishing 19th out of 36 entrants at the 1992 Olympics
Because decathlon is a grueling event, consisting of 10
different sets of athletic skills, it can be said that
decathletes are world’s best (all-around) athletes.
This being said, Dean was the world’s best deaf athlete.
