first-player-in-nba-game

Ask anyone who was NBA’s first deaf player, and almost all of
them would say it is Lance Allred.

Correct? Yes and no. Allred was the first deaf player to
play in an official NBA game. He, however, was not the
first deaf player to play in a NBA game!

Bill Schyman, from DePaul University, played several
NBA pre-season games with Baltimore Bullets one season
in the early fifties. He was released just before the
season started.
