Tom Coughlin, a Super Bowl winner as a coach,
coached a college football team as a young man.
That college team had several deaf players –
and it was not Gallaudet. It was the RIT
club team during the early seventies. It
was his first coaching assignment and coached
the team for several seasons before moving on.

One of the deaf players said Coughlin was
tough but fair to all.
