hard-to-get-jobs

The years of 1930’s-1950’s were difficult
for the deaf to seek employment outside of
factory jobs, civil service jobs, printing
jobs (with union cards) and at deaf schools.

Some fought hard to find employment in these
non-traditional fields but many tried and
gave up, but fell back on these “easy-to-get”
jobs for the deaf.

Times have changed – thanks to ADA, interpreters,
and captions.
