heartbreaking-stumble-in-deaflympics-hurdles

In the 1965 Deaflympics, Jeff Lambrecht, USA, competed in
the 400 meter hurdles. One of the competitors was Russia’s
Vyacheslav Skomorokhov, who competed in the hearing
Olympics.

Lambrecht and Skomorokhov were neck to neck in that
race with just a stretch remaining.

On the last stretch, Lambrecht’s foot hit the hurdle and
fell down, knocking him out of the race. Skomorokhov
was able to sail away for an unchallenged win.

This has to be one of the most heartbreaking moments
in Deaflympics history.
