The National Softball Association of the
Deaf tournaments are a big thing among
adult deaf that play softball.

Prior to 1977, there was no such a thing
as a national deaf softball tournament.

During these early years the big thing was
the annual Memorial Day invitational
deaf softball tournaments, especially
in the eastern part of USA.

Teams from Chicago, New York, Michigan,
Washington, DC and others would compete
against each other at these annual
invitational tournaments – just to win
these bragging rights.

This tournament disappeared when the
first national deaf tournament took place
in 1977.
