mysteries-of-deaf-football

Football was a common sport among high schools and
colleges during the late 19th century and early
20th century.

There was a picture of the 1902 Utah School for
the Deaf football team. There also was a story
in one of these past deaf newspapers of a
late 19th century 51-0 football win by
New York School for the Deaf over Lexington
School for the Deaf.

No one at Lexington School for the Deaf nowadays
knows about it.

What about football that was played years way
back at Maryland School for the Deaf. This
school started a modern version of football in
1969, but what about years way back?

And was football actually played at the
Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in the
late 19th century. This school is a soccer
stronghold.

This can be said of other schools for the deaf.
