Patricia Carlon, a deaf woman who passed away in 2002,
was considered to be the top crime fiction author
in Australia. She wrote 14 such novels during her
long writing career. Reclusive, because of her
deafness, she turned down all newspaper interviews.
No one really knew who she was until the latter
years of her life. She did not always use her
real name with these novels, using different
names.
