Nansie Sharpless, who was deaf, worked in the medical research field for
years. After obtaining her doctorate, she studied the causes of
Parkinson’s Disease, hoping to find a solution. At medical conferences
she presented papers on various medical topics. At the time of her
death in 1987, she was employed at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine,
studying the brains of people with mental issues.
