Tom Coughlan was a great long distance runner
at RIT.

While he ran these long distance races, he never
competed in the marathon until the 1993 Deaflympics
at Sofia, Bulgara.

His first, only and last marathon race of his
life was an easy gold medal win for him.

In a press conference, he was asked if he was
nervous about running the first marathon race of
his life.

He replied:
I just run my race and not to worry about my competitors
