During the 1890’s, the Outback of Australia was an
unknown territory, much talked about but much
less written about. Henry Lawson was assigned
to travel to the Outback to write newspaper
stories about life among these natives,
different culture, different weather,
different geography, etc, etc. He wrote
many articles and won praises from newspaper
readers and his editorial peers. Lawson
was deaf!
