Smart911 may be the answer to first responders knowing
the needs of deaf during emergencies.

In some municipalities, Smart911 technology is used.
It is up to residents or fill in Smart911 information
on-line such as – telling responders of deafness,
need for ASL interpreters, pressing the door bell button
instead of knocking on the door – as well as medical

If residents refuse to fill in the information on-line
then responders may have no way of knowing what to do
while arriving at the scene.
