St Joseph’s College for the Deaf was in business for just
one year (1962-63) in Buffalo, NY before it closed up.

The college’s most notable athlete was John Kaleta,
a three-sport star at St Rita School for the Deaf.

When the college closed up, he transferred to
Gallaudet and played three sports – football,
basketball and baseball.

He is currently in the Gallaudet athletics
hall of fame.
