Have we ever had a 7 footer in deaf schools basketball?
There was a 6’11 player – Richard Bock of Missouri
School for the Deaf. He played two seasons – 1954-55, as
a junior and 1955-56, as a senior.

Apparently he never played basketball before playing for
the JV team as a junior. He was promoted to the varsity
in the middle of the season. Starting slowly because of
his inexperience, he blossomed in the latter part of
the season, averaging 21.5 points per game.

As a senior, he averaged 20.5 rebounds per game and
scored 24.5 points per game, including 54 points
in one game. He was named to the Silent Worker’s
All American first team.

Not sure if he played AAAD basketball after his
school days.
