Thrown out of baseball game for laughing hard

James Behrens, who was deaf, was a long time
catcher for semi pro baseball teams in Maryand.
During one heated game between two rival teams,
the umpire made a bad call, thus incurring
anger and boos from the fans. Behrens, already
angry about this bad call, took the hint and
laughed very hard at the umpire. The enraged
umpire threw him out of the game! It caused
a near riot among the fans. Behrens passed
away in the 1970’s after a long career
as dorm parent at Maryland School for the Deaf.
