Did you know that –

Lowell J. Myers, a deaf Chicago attorney, gained fame
(and possibly notoriety) for successfully defending deaf
Donald Lang in a murder case during the sixties. Lang
not only was illiterate but knew no sign language. What
was not generally known about Myers was that he achieved
an academic impossibility – earning a bachelors’ degree
from one college and a masters from another college –
at the same time! Both colleges realized it and have
established procedures to prevent this from happening
again. Myers passed away few years ago.
