Oh, so cruelly ironic. Kansas State University graduated
a deaf veterinary student about 25 years ago – Dr Tom McDavitt,
currently practicing in Illinois.
You would think because of good experience with McDavitt
the university would welcome another deaf veterinary student
with open arms.
Wrong! The veterinary professors put up a resistance when a
deaf veterinary student enrolled in the program – and eventually
“flunked” her two weeks before her graduation! The deaf woman
fought back and got herself readmitted.
