A Child Care Center Classroom Teacher will be
responsible for the general supervision and management of
a class of children ranging in age from 8 weeks to 2.9 years.

The Child Care Teacher must be able to meet the
educational and experiential requirements detailed by
the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and
Care, our official licensing agency.

The Child Care Teacher is hired as an employee of The
Learning Center for the Deaf and, thus, is bound by the
staff policies and procedures of this organization.

A valid drivers license and a clean driving record as
determined by Human Resources.
Child Care Director
Model and promote positive, healthy and safe habits and behavior.
Plan, supervise, and implement the program for the class in accordance with the policies
and philosophy of the school.
Maintain order, appearance, and learning environment of the classroom.
Ensure that all children are dry and comfortable by changing wet and soiled diapers and
clothing in a timely fashion.
Assume equal share of housekeeping.
Attend all staff meetings.
Participate in recommended training and staff development, programs, conferences, and
courses to continuously increase professional growth.
Utilize classroom aides effectively.
Establish positive communication with parents of the students.
Conduct parent conferences as needed.
Assist in ongoing evaluation to assess developmental needs of children in your care.
Assist in public events sponsored by the school.
All teachers must demonstrate and maintain the physical, mental and emotional ability to
care for the children for whom they are responsible in a way that meets the generally
accepted physical
, social, emotional and intellectual needs of the children
. All teachers must be able to lift 35 lbs. and are expected to sit, squat, bend, walk and push for 30
minutes at a time during the course of the day.
Your employment with The Learning Center for the Deaf is a voluntary one and is
subject to termination by you or The Learning Center for the Deaf at will, with or without cause,
and with or without notice, at any time. Nothing in these policies shall be interpreted to
be in conflict with or to eliminate or modify in any way the employment-at-will status of
The Learning Center for the Deaf employees.
This policy of employment-at-will may not be modified by any officer or employee and shall
not be modified in any publication or document. The only exception to this policy is a
written employment agreement approved at the discretion of the President or the Board
of Directors, whichever is applicable.
