A certain clueless hearing employee has worked
for years and years in an office where the desk
next to her is occupied by a deaf employee.
That clueless person thought the only way to
communicate with the deaf employee is to “get into
his face” by jumping up and down, by hand waving
and by suddenly shoving papers upfront, etc. Even
when the deaf employee showed obvious irritation
at the hearing employee’s antics, this obnoxious
behavior continued for years.
The soft-spoken supervisor, for years, knew what
was going on but stayed in the background. Suddenly
one day, the supervisor felt enough was enough and
told the clueless employee to cease and desist with
her antics and to simply write down on piece of paper
what she wanted to say.
The clueless employee was left in a state of shock
for the rest of the work day.
