-- a weird Deaf street Sign
There is a Deaf Sign on a street corner that is
weird. Take a look at:

-- McDonald's walk-thru window
We have read stories of deaf drivers not being
able to order at the McDonald's drive-through
windows (and filing lawsuits as a result).
In a small town in Wales (part of Great
Britain) the McDonald's outlet has opened up
a walk-through window. A deaf person could
come to the walk-through window to place
orders through notes. Is it better than
a drive-through window? Probably not
because there are drivers that like to
eat while driving or to take food home.
-- Connecticut vs Massachusetts
We know about the Connecticut governor
cutting out the funding for 30 state
interpreters, making the deaf community
very upset. Well, in Massachusetts, the
governor cut $200,000 from the budget of
the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf
and Hard of Hearing. What happened?
The legislators voted to override the
governor's budget reduction. Yet, nothing
has been done with the Connecticut
budget reduction. Two state neighbors,
two different results!
