-- seats or lack of seats led to Delta dispute
DeafDigest mentioned a couple of days ago
that two deaf passengers got into a dispute
with a Delta agent and were refused entry
to the airplane. The dispute centered around
seating. They wanted to seat together, but
of the two tickets, only one specifiied an
assigned seat whreas the second ticket
specified open seating. This is the Delta's
version. Keep in mind seats have always been
a hot issue among many passengers, both deaf
and hearing.
-- Super Bowl homework
The two Super Bowl teams are not the only
ones doing their "homework." There is another
group doing their homework. It is the real-time
captioning team doing their homework - knowing
who the coaches and the players are on both
teams. So when the announcer mentions a name,
the captioners know who it is without making
us laugh (or cry) with these bloopers!
-- any hearing aid brand can be fixed if broken
There was a web ad/information about a hearing aid
repair company that can repair any and all hearing
aid brands (Starkey, Widex, Phonak, Oticon, Unitron,
ReSound, Siemens (now Sivantos), and others.
The posting said that if an estimate is rejected
by the customers, the broken hearing aid brand will
be returned to them at no postage charge. Too good
to be true? Don't know!
