-- airline iPads for deaf
The All Nippon Airways (Japan) are now using
iPads to communicate with deaf passengers,
both at the airline check-in counter and on
the airplanes. Announcements by flight
attendants and flight captains show up
on iPads that are shown to deaf passengers.
A perfect example would be airplane flying
to a different airport because of weather
conditions. Hearing passengers know about it;
deaf passengers don't - hence the importance
of these iPads. A picture is at:

-- a Deaf House is a Hearing House
We have designs and plans for a Deaf House
(vibrations, total visibility, alerting
signalers, etc). But could a Hearing
House really be a Deaf House? DeafDigest
editor spent the Memorial Day weekend
at the home of family members at their
Hearing House. He could feel the heavy
vibrations anywhere in the house because
of two dogs running around, a 5-year old
boy jumping around, and adults that
walk with heavy thumps on the wooden
floors, etc!
-- a comment by state legislator about caption devices
A Coda, who is a state legislator made this
comment:
The captioning devices can be hard to use
and it is not equal access
He is correct!
