-- deaf can hear without ears
Could the deaf people hear without their ears?
David Eagleman, not deaf, thinks so. He is a
neuroscientist and he just wrote a book titled
The Brain: The Story of You. In that book, he
mentioned that the deaf should be able to hear,
with the brain being re-wired to avoid the "deaf
ears."
-- if the apple is rotten, throw it out
Food Lion (West Virginia) employee Betty Berry
is deaf with low vision issues. She was just
honored with the State Ability Works award
for overcoming her disabilities. What is
her job? "Just throw out the apple if it is
rotten"! Actually she is the quality assurance
inspector, making sure everything that Food
Lion sells is of top quality.
