He is a neuroscientist and he just wrote a book titled The Brain: The Story of You. In that book, he mentioned that the deaf should be able to hear, with the brain being re-wired to avoid the "deaf ears." -- if the apple is rotten, throw it out Food Lion (West Virginia) employee Betty Berry is deaf with low vision issues. She was just honored with the State Ability Works award for overcoming her disabilities. What is her job? "Just throw out the apple if it is rotten"!
