DeafDigest - 01 September 2015

DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, September 1, 2015 morning   -- small town hearing people unaware of deaf needs Danville, Kentucky is a small town, where just about every other hearing person knows a deaf person - thanks to the location of Kentucky School for the Deaf. But these hearing people assume all deaf people are happy with VRI services at the Boyle County medical facility. They have been dismissive of the preference of deaf patients for live interpreters as oppposed to the VRI. As a result, there are hurt feelings everywhere in the town!     -- an interesting CI issue in India more deaf people of India are getting implants - and this leads to a big issue. Should the CI people use sign language to communicate with the non-CI deaf people! It is not an issue in USA but it is becoming one in India.   past Mid-Week & morning editions: http://deafdigest.com/category/mid-week-news/     8/30/15 Blue and Gold editions at: http://deafdigest.com/newsletters/
