-- NASA's deaf lead engineer
A most amazing lead engineer at NASA in New Orleans is
Dr. Renee Horton, a deaf mother of three children.
She overcame a rough life, dropping out of college,
before returning to earn a degree in electrical
engineering and a PhD in material science with a
concentration in physics. She is the lead engineer
of NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans
working on a huge rocket. She grew up throughout
her teenage years without realizing she was deaf.

-- a big dancing challenge for Nyle
Nyle has a big challenge at the Dancing with the
Stars, and it has nothing to do with his
deafness or his lack of professional dancing
experience! It is fake-dancing by celebrities
that know nothing about dancing but trying
to tell the audience they are "expert"
dancers.
-- a town says yes and no on Deaf Child signs
Bowie, Texas is a small town of just 5,200 people.
It has a 4-year old deaf child who loves playing
around on the streets. The worried mother has
asked the town to install "deaf child" signs.
The town said they will install the sign but
said no to paying for it. Cost? $200 per sign!
The mother screamed "unfair" - because other
towns such as Wichita Falls will install signs
at no cost to the family. Right now, people
are arguing - who will pay for the signs!
