-- Derrick Coleman makes the Seattle Seahawks final roster
Derrick Coleman has survived the roster cuts and is on the 53-man
Seattle Seahawks roster. He plays two positions - fullback and
special teams. A popular player - Michael Robinson was cut to
make room for Derrick. Coaches said it was Derrick's hard work
that earned him the roster spot. He now has to play in a real
game to officially become the third deaf player in NFL. While
each team has 53 players on their rosters, the rules allow 45
to play in each game. We can just hope that the Seahawks will
select Derrick as one of the 45 players for its game next Sunday
against Carolinas. Just keep our fingers crossed.
-- a rare bus; hearing people riding deaf bus!
Look at the pictures. Each picture is worth a 1,000 words.
Florida School for the Deaf and Blind has contracted with a
private fleet bus to have the school logos pasted on all
4 sides of the bus. This bus is used for some hearing trips
and also for some school trips. The bus may take long
distance trips, across the nation, carrying hearing
passengers!

- Captions not permitted in Sweden?
Is the Swedish government opposed to captions? Well, do read this
story. Undertexter is a Swedish captioning website. The police
raided the Undertexter headquarters and shut it down. Why? They
are saying Undertexter violates Swedish copyright laws! Many
people in Sweden, both deaf and hearing are very angry about it.
