DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, September 2, 2015 morning
-- A special Girl Scout honor
Samantha Tanner, not deaf, Kutztown, PA, earned a Gold
Award with the Girls Scouts. Her project was researching
and putting into a scrapbook, these newspaper articles
about the deaf in advocacy in Berks County. Her articles
dated way back to 1967.
-- a sign language person
Kimberly Stangarone is the campus poliec officer at
the J.L. Long Middle School, East Dallas, TX. That
school has many deaf students, a fact that did not
escape her attention. What did she do? Learn sign
language in order to communicate with them. Yes,
these deaf students were thrilled.
