DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, February 3, 2014 -- A cop tries to take driver's license away from deaf driver! A cop stopped a deaf driver. It was a minor violation, no big deal. But when the copy realized the driver was deaf, he threatened to take the driver's license away from him. The cop felt that deaf people were not allowed to drive cars. Fortunately, the cop decided to allow the deaf driver to keep his license. It would have been an ugly story in the newspapers if the cop kept the license!   -- real reason Coleman played in the Super Bowl Derrick Coleman played for UCLA but was so little used that it made him bitter. The Minnesota Vikings cut him. With the Seattle Seahawks he impressed coach Pete Carroll as the team's best special teams player. This is the reason he was on the team. Carroll's faith in him paid off when he made the first tackle of the game during the game opening kickoff!     -- cost of TV voice commercials and captioned commercials At the Super Bowl, the commercials cost $4,000,000 dollars per 30 seconds. It was $3,000,000 just a few weeks ago. And the captions only cost a couple of hundred dollars - yet we continue to hear complaints from commercial people that captions are "so expensive." Hypocrisy? Yes!   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deafdigest1 Twitter: @deafdigest 02/02/14 Blue edition at: http://deafdigest.com/category/newsletter/newsletter-blue-newsletter/ 02/02/14 Gold edition at: http://deafdigest.com/category/newsletter/newsletter-gold-newsletter/
