-- delayed Deaf Halloween
Halloween takes place October 31st every year.
But could Halloween be delayed? In the case of
a 12-year old deaf child, it happened. In
a small town in Georgia, this deaf child
missed Halloween - because he was in hospital.
After he got out, complete strangers in this
small town banded together to give him a real
Halloween experience, including the traditional
trick and treating and with these events. See

-- Hollywood diversity is a joke
Hollywood constantly says the movie industry
is diverse - race, gender and gender orientation.
Hollywood forgets one thing - deaf actors and
disabled actors. This was the issue raised by
a Studio-Wide Roundtable on Disability Inclusion
event that took place this week in Beverly Hills.
The theme at this event was:
Give us a chance, please!
-- another new deaf trucker
DeafDigest is glad to see trucking a fast
growing profession for the deaf. The latest
deaf trucker is Cameron Wright Jr, who is
soon to graduate from a 9-week truck
driving course at Richmond Community
College (NC). His truck-driving classmates
joke that he is ready to be named the
valedictorian only because he knows more
about trucking than them!
