DeafDigest - 03 October 2014

DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, October 3, 2014   -- the Secret Service and the deaf We have been reading the newspapers on the bad job the Secret Service is doing protecting our president. What about the deaf? We will also remember the fake sign language interpreter in South Africa that was making no sense during his fake signing of Obama's speech. It was the Secret Service's job to check the faker's background and they didn't!     -- deaf becoming important weather service volunteers We have hearing people that look for hurricanes and storms and inform the National Weather Service with the information. What about the deaf? About 25 deaf people have been trained by the National Weather Service in Tennessee to become official weather volunteers. They also look for hurricanes, strong winds, hail storms and tornadoes.   -- something about Google Glass we don't know about We know that the Google Glass is supposed to show movie captions and act as our lipreading machine. But for lipreading, it must work with the Android smartphone and with a special app. Without the Android and the app, the Google Glass is useless as a lipreading machine!   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deafdigest1 Twitter: @deafdigest to make subscription changes, go to http://deafdigest.com, click on the "subscribe" icon and follow screen instructions 09/28/14 Blue edition at: http://deafdigest.com/category/newsletter/newsletter-blue-newsletter/ 09/28/14 Gold edition at: http://deafdigest.com/category/newsletter/newsletter-gold-newsletter/
