-- a deaf man leads college chapel services
At University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas) and
other colleges across the country, chapel services
are always led by the hearing and is voiced. But for
the first time in history of Mary Hardin-Baylor,
a deaf man, using ASL, will lead the chapel services.
It is deaf priest - Rev. Tom Coughlin. Possibly
he may lead the way for other deaf priests to lead
chapel services at other colleges.
-- the deaf Youtube views
The Super Bowl is now over, and we look forward to
the 2015 Super Bowl. But for the 2014 Super Bowl,
who won the Youtube Views on commercials? It was
Budweiser (Puppy Love). Coming in third place
was Hyundai (Nice). Guess who came in second place
between Budweiser and Hyandai? It was Derrick
Coleman with the Duracell commercial. It attracted
16 million views!
-- a very special deaf dog trainer of hearing dogs
Shahaf Karavny, a deaf Israeli woman, wanted to serve
in the Israeli military, but was turned down because
of her deafness. Instead of giving up, she became a
Israel Police dog trainer. Training dogs was a natural
with her because she came from a family of dog trainers!
She currently trains dogs to smell out explosives and
drugs. Her boss says she is doing very well with the dogs.
