DeafDigest - 04 November 2014

DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, November 4, 2014 -- a very scary deaf incident at a small town store Batavia, NY is a small town of some 15,000 people. A 11-year old hearing girl was at a store where she accidentally dropped some money. A deaf man saw it and gestured to her about the dropped money. The girl got very scared and thought the deaf man wanted to kidnap her! Police was called and after some questioning, knew that the hearing girl was making it all up. The deaf man did not run away but waited for the police to arrive to clear it all up.   -- another use of 3D printing DeafDigest has mentioned 3D printing several times. The latest one is a camera built by 3D printing. It was built by Clint O'Connor, a retired engineer with many patents, an engineering degree from MIT and at one time, owner of his consulting firm. He is deaf.   -- people in a London town happy because of a deaf person For 20 years a town clock above a Central London (UK) shop was broken. No one was around to fix it. A deaf man was hired to get the clock fixed. It was not an easy job, requiring two months of slow restoration, taking out and fixing the broken and rusted parts. The clock now works and everyone is happy.   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deafdigest1 Twitter: @deafdigest to make subscription changes, go to http://deafdigest.com, click on the "subscribe" icon and follow screen instructions 11/02/14 Blue edition at: http://deafdigest.com/category/newsletter/newsletter-blue-newsletter/ 11/02/14 Gold edition at: http://deafdigest.com/category/newsletter/newsletter-gold-newsletter/
