-- impossible to miss the big fingerspelling card
We know of these wallet-sized fingerspelling cards,
pretty much common everywhere. But what about a
big card - that is table-sized? The ASL club
sponsors a weekly sign language session at the
Dining Hall on the campus of Wellesley College
(MA). Has it helped? A few students already picked
up good fingerspelling!
-- Forbes says closed captions is valuable
Forbes, the magazine that CEOs and business people
read, says that closed captions is valuable,
not just for the deaf but for the hearing. There
are always keywords, spoken by voice, that
hearing people do not understand. A perfect
example is - Hurricane Joaquin. It is a keyword
that the deaf will catch for the first time, buta
hearing, rely on voice, may not know what it is
for the first time!
