-- taxi company fined nearly $45,000 for refusing deaf
DeafDigest mentioned a while ago that a deaf woman asked for
a taxi, through her relay service and was repeatedly hung up.
It was during a blizzard and she wanted a ride from New Jersey
to her home in New York. The New Jersey judge fined the
taxi company nearly $45,000 for ignoring this ride request.

In Australia, three deaf people were planning to
commit a crime and were arrested. They denied
they planned a crime. In the courtroom, the jury,
with an interpreter, saw the video of these
three deaf people discussing a crime. They were
not aware that the video taped them.
