DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, October 4, 2016 -- taxi company fined nearly $45,000 for refusing deaf DeafDigest mentioned a while ago that a deaf woman asked for a taxi, through her relay service and was repeatedly hung up. It was during a blizzard and she wanted a ride from New Jersey to her home in New York. The New Jersey judge fined the taxi company nearly $45,000 for ignoring this ride request. They denied they planned a crime. In the courtroom, the jury, with an interpreter, saw the video of these three deaf people discussing a crime. They were not aware that the video taped them.   -- Prince Charles visiting a grave Prince Charles was touring Jerusalem, but was able to get away for a short time to visit a Christian grave. His grandmother Princess Alice of Battenberg, was buried in the grave.
