-- a theater critic angry about Spring Awakening
A theater critic wrote an article, expressing his
anger about the Spring Awakening play on Broadway.
He said it is hearing-friendly but not deaf-friendly.
The ASL created for the play is difficult for the
deaf to understand. This has been an old issue for
years, beginning with The National Theatre of the Deaf
and now with Deaf West. The past Deaf West artistic
director told DeafDigest editor that hearing audiences
is where the money is, all the more reason for making
plays friendly to them. A picture is at:

-- expensive to adopt a deaf child from China
It is very expensive to adopt a deaf child from
China. A deaf couple wants to adopt a deaf child.
The cost is $20,000. Not sure why cost is so high.
-- hospitality headquarters for deaf tourists
Deaf people love to travel. But when deaf people
travel, they see visitors centers. But is there
a Deaf Visitor Center? Normally no - but Kyoto-shi,
a city in western Japan is building a Deaf Vistors
Center to help deaf tourists with their touring
plans! A first in the world?
