-- Republicans not happy about FCC?
FCC is important to us (captions, video relays, etc). But the
Republicans on the House of Representatives wrote FCC a letter,
wanting to know if FCC is doing a good job of preventing relay
frauds? FCC says yes, but the Republicans wanted to make sure.
We hope the Republicans will be 100 percent satisfied.
-- a hearing aid battery is illegal
If you use a hearing aid battery that has mercury, you may be
breaking the law in some states. Reason is that mercury hurts
the "green" environment. Will there be cops that stop you and
ask you to show them your hearing aid batteries? No, but this
battery is still illegal!
-- a lucky Deaflympics nation or stuck with a cheapskate corporation?
Safaricom is a big corporation in Kenya; it deals with telecommunication
services and its revenue is 1.25 billion dollars. Safaricom
announced that it was donating KES 2 million (Kenya money) to the
Kenyan Deaflympics group. KES 2 million equals $23,400 in
USA money. Kenya has 54 Deaflympics participants. This gift
means $433.33 per athlete - which may be enough for one week
stay in a cheap Bulgarian hotel room. Is Safaricom a cheapskate,
yes, because $23,400 is just "pennies" to them!
