Is hearing aid a real hearing aid or is it
an amplifier, or in other words, a fake
hearing aid? Do read this story -
Mark Ferdinand, not deaf, said he uses a
hearing aid in order to capture the sounds
of wildlife animals which walk alk through the
forest in Pennsylvania. Will always be a
debate - is an amplifier a hearing aid
or is it a fake hearing aid. DeafDigest
says an amplifier is certainly not a
hearing aid - but many people disagree!

Last night, DeafDigest editor was walking
with a group in Washington, DC. He didn't
see it but a homeless deaf person was
chatting with a deaf friend just only
for a few seconds. This homeless person,
from war-torn Somalia, "won" a lottery
to enter USA as a refugee immigrant.
That was few years ago. No job; no money;
no family; no friends; no education;
no reading and writing skills; no employment
skills. He manages to scrounge for food
and money while surviving on the streets.
It is not a deaf problem nor a hearing
problem but a worldwide problem.
