DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, November 5, 2015 -- a sign language drive-in kiosk You can drive up to a Starbucks outlet in St Augustine, Florida and order your coffee at the sign language kiosk. One deaf woman did - and the video went viral. Just a few weeks ago, a pizzeria in California set up a sign language kiosk for deaf patrons. He was scared for his life when these parade participants jumped on his car. Several things to think about. It took the jury a long time to discuss the case. It may be possible that the jurors did not agree and that some felt the deaf driver was not guilty. It is up to the judge to determine the sentence. He could sentence the driver to three full years in jail, or give him a light sentence or to let him off on probation. And the deaf driver could appeal the decision. We shall see what happens.   -- it pays for a woman to love the political system Leah Katz-Hernandez, who is deaf, is the White House receptionist. She greets many of the world's most famous and most powerful people. How did she get the job? A hint may be that she loves the political system - always involved with Gallaudet student politics while she was a student; keeping track of the presidential election; deaf issues that needed attention on the Hill; getting deaf people to vote and getting involved; and also helping Obama get re-elected. And much more.   Latest deaf jobs: http://deafdigest.com/category/jobs/ or click on "jobs" past Mid-Week & morning editions: http://deafdigest.com/category/mid-week-news/ 11/1/15 Blue and Gold editions at: http://deafdigest.com/newsletters/
