DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, April 6, 2015   -- three Indiana judges in trouble over ADA A deaf man wanted to attend the court session because his hearing mother was a criminal defendant. He asked for an interpreter. The first judge turned him down; same as with the second and third judge. They all said he is only in the court to be with his mother. He then filed a lawsuit, accusing the judges of not honoring ADA regulations. The federal court agreed and these judges will face a trial to see if they illegally discrimnated against the deaf man.     -- the World ASL Series of Poker Many deaf people love to play poker and there have been deaf poker tournaments over the years. The new such tournament is the World ASL Series of Poker. This tournament circuit, to be rotated from city to city is owned by three deaf men of Texas- Jay Levine, Matt Erickson and Dan Stoddard. The first tournament will take place at a Mississippi casino in June.   -- lipreading or sign language Do we want to lipread or do we want to use sign language? Well, in Tennessee, there is a new school - called Lip Reading Academy.
