DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, November 6, 2014   -- a Philadelphia city official complaining about a driver There is a big feud between taxi drivers and Uber drivers. Vince Fenerty, who is the Philadelphia (PA) Parking Authority chief, complained that one Uber driver does not speak English. Someone pointed out to him, much to his shock, that the driver he yelled at, was deaf!   -- cleaning up the mess Elections are over. But the mess continues - these old "please vote" campaign signs that are posted everywhere - telephone poles, building walls, street signs, etc. In Corpus Christi, Texas, who cleans up the mess? It is the employees of the Corpus Christi Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center! DeafDigest is not sure why this agency is involved.   -- a problem about a vote by a deaf person In Arkansas, a deaf person voted on Election Day. The polling place refused to accept her vote because of her difficulties in communicating with the polling workers. She asked for help, and they refused to help her. They, however, allowed her to vote, but refused to accept it as an official vote! That deaf woman was upset about it.   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deafdigest1 Twitter: @deafdigest to make subscription changes, go to http://deafdigest.com, click on the "subscribe" icon and follow screen instructions 11/02/14 Blue edition at: http://deafdigest.com/category/newsletter/newsletter-blue-newsletter/ 11/02/14 Gold edition at: http://deafdigest.com/category/newsletter/newsletter-gold-newsletter/
