A posting said that deafness was once a permanent
disability, but not any more thanks to the CI. The
person got it all wrong; deafness is a permanent
disability, unless there is a non-CI medical operation
that fixed deafness. Take off the hearing aid or
the CI, the person is still deaf!
-- one million hits embarrass NFL
The Super Bowl TV pre-game ceremony cut off the
ASL signing of the national anthem. This is nothing
new as it is almost always have been cut off
every year. But this time, there have been
over one million hits on the online viewing.
NFL worries about its image, and having the
signing cut off is not helping it.

Which brain works the best, the deaf baby brain
or the hearing baby brain? According to an article
in the Discover Magazine, it is not a matter of
which brain works better, but a matter of both
brains working differently and very well!
There are smart deaf babies, and there are also
smart hearing babies.
