-- a hospital followed ADA rules the wrong way
A deaf woman was rushed to the hospital's emergency
room, and asked for an interpreter. The hospital said
yes, you will get an interpreter. The ER person shows
up with a TTY machine, telling her it is an interpreter!
The deaf woman refuses the TTY machine and insists on
an interpreter. Fortunately for the deaf woman and the
hospital, a real live interpreter showed up! Whew.
-- a big shock with the Deaflympics
Today's newspaper story, in brief, said:
USA has pulled out its hockey team from the Winter
Deaflympics, citing political and economic concerns.
Winter Deaflympics is taking place at Khanty-Mansiysk,
Russia on March 28 through April 5, 2015. Hockey is
an important Deaflympics sport. Something to do with
Putin and his corrupt deaf sports leaders?
