DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, July 7, 2016 -- wrong tweets at NAD Conference, to laugh or to cry NAD Conference is continuing; people looking up tweets at #NAD2016 will get wrong postings. To laugh or to cry? Take a look at: http://deafdigest.com/wrong-nad-tweets/   -- the hated TV texts In a small Australian town, news on TV is shown on text instead of captions. That should be OK, except that with that small town TV station, texts are "stuck" all the time and is always chopping off the bottom part of the news. A deaf TV viewer has complained about it and the TV station people have just shrugged. This is why Deaf Americans bless the FCC!   -- hearing don't want it In Manistee, Michigan, a town of some 6,200 people, there are 14 openings for council seats. Only one hearing candidate has signed up. Others don't want it. If hearing don't want it, then is it possible for a deaf resident to just sign up and and be easily elected? The problem is - how many deaf residents live in Manistee, and how many of them are interested in town hearing politics, which can be quite nasty?   Latest deaf jobs: http://deafdigest.com/category/jobs/ Barry's collections of past articles (with today's update) -- shoulder tap http://deafdigest.com/collections/barrys-collections/ 07/03/16 Blue and Gold editions at: http://deafdigest.com/newsletters/
