There wasa story about a foodcourt deaf cleaner
who was yelled and insulted by a crazy hearing
woman. He quit his job - but quickly received
job offers from other restaurants! His boss wanted
to keep him, but this incident was too traumatic
for him. He is now looking over these several

-- a cruel mess-up at hearing college
A.N. Shankari, a young deaf woman, is a student at
Mahatma Gandhi University in India. She handed
in a term paper. The professor lost it and asked
her to write it again. She did, and again, the
professor told her the same thing. Fishy?
She argued with the university and they won't
help her, telling her she has to pay for a
third term paper! Frustrated, she quit college.
Was the professor playing games with her
because of her deafness? Won't be surprised since
India discriminates heavily against the deaf.

Do mention Princess Diana, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey
and Jennifer Lopez; they're all world famous. They
have stayed at a hotel owned by a deaf man in Rome,
Italy. A hotel/travel web site ran a story on Roberto
Wirth that owns and operates Hassler Roma. This hotel
has been annually ranked as one of the world's top
5 hotels. Wirth went to American School for the Deaf,
Gallaudet and NTID while younger. He is fluent in
both ASL and in Italian Sign Language.
