DeafDigest - 07 March 2016

DeafDigest Mid-Week edition, March 7, 2016 -- responsible for beer revolution Richard Emerson, who is deaf, is a well known beer brewer in New Zealand. He didn't like the way the beers were brewed, so brewed beers his way, not everyone else's way. His methods encouraged other brewers to make better beer. His deafness? His mother had rubella when he was born. He functions as a hearing person and does not know sign language. A picture of this master beer brewer is at: http://deafdigest.com/deaf-master-beer-brewer/   -- proposed law to ban "deaf and dumb" Hank Vaupel, a legislator in Michigan, successfully passed a bill in House to ban use of the words "deaf and dumb" in state language. These obnoxious words would be replaced by deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing. It is not known if the Senate and/or the governor has acted on this House bill.       -- no captions on a popular social media site Facebook is one of the world's top social media sites, but no captions?
